My Melbourne Purchases

 I'm back again! And this time, it's a bit of a different post, again. Even though it still has some of my photography, I have added a bit of style to it.

Oh I'm so cool.

A few weeks ago I went to Melbourne and naturally, I bought plenty of things, just enough to fill the insides of my suitcase, which my excuse to my mother was 'I didn't want things rolling around inside'. She totally loved that. Here is my little Melbourne outfits, a total of four of them, some with accessories that I already had. 

 The above outfit is made up of pretty simple items, and it's super comfy. The top and denim pants were purchased in the lovely place of Melbourne. The top was on sale for $10 from Cotton On and it's super soft and light, and thankfully the white isn't dominant, because with my insanely white skin it would look a bit ridiculous. For this outfit, I added the bright blue denim shorts which I got on sale for $5 at H&M which is probably the most amazing store known to man kind. It was the first time I had ever been into one of their stores and I was completely overwhelmed by the hugeness and absolutely gorgeous clothes in there. It's not too expensive, and the cheaper items are actually good quality for what you're paying. I would 100% consider moving to Melbourne just for this store. 

This is not an advertisement I promise, I just love it that much.

The shoes in the outfit I bought for $15 from Target in Brisbane, and the sunglasses were a present from my Brother which after some savvy internet use, I found they were $40. Thanks brother!

It's the perfect outfit for shopping, going to lunch with friends and I'll most likely be wearing it to tafe a few times this summer. And the top is even perfect for when it gets a bit colder, as it sometimes likes to do in Brisbane.

It'd be greatly appreciated right now.

 The second outfit is a bit more dressy, with a blue peplum top, which I purchased from Dotti for $10. It was reduced because it had some foundation on the neckline. That came out in the wash and I saved about $20-$30. Score! The jeans were bought from Just Jeans in a deal of 2 for 1 so I bought two of the same colour and design at the price of $80. I'm a good bargain hunter I guess. The purse I also bought in Melbourne, is Kate Hill and of course I got it on sale. From $40 down to $21, I was pretty happy. It's pink, it's got loads of card space for my loyalty cards I rarely use and it's freaking Kate Hill. I love Kate Hill. The shoes are from Forever New in Brisbane, which were originally $60 but I got them for $20. What can I say? I have a nose for bargains. I just end up where all the sales are.

It's the perfect outfit for a first date, going to the movies with friends, or just to wear because it is so darn cute.

 This next outfit is using the jeans again, and this time I have paired it with a top I bought from Myers, for $15. I love their sales. It's apparently white and navy (according to my mother) but I see it as white and black. Anyways, it's a super breezy top and paired with the heels I got from Rubi Shoes in a deal of 2 for $50, I was super happy! I had seen heels similar to these but with wedges at Betts For Her and of course they were sold out in my size. But these are super comfy and not too tall. But of course heels just don't seem to hurt me. I'm pretty happy with that!

It's perfect for going out to dinner, and without the heels, it'd be a great outfit to wear just hanging around at home.

 This outfit is made up of all things Melbourne. The shoes are the other pair from the deal in the above outfit, and are super comfy. I walked around Melbourne for about 5 hours while wearing them and I have no complaints. They also sounds really business like when walking on cement. Makes me feel important. The scalloped denim shorts were $20 and are my new true love because wow they're just adorable and the colour of the denim goes super nicely with my skin, without washing me out. Perfection! The top is from Dotti, which I bought for $15, saving $10. Not a huge saving but it's such an adorable top and the knit is so nice and soft so naturally I bought it. Do not go judging me for my impulse buys. If you were there, you'd buy it too.

Another perfect outfit for lazying around, and would be a good look for tafe, without the heels, because let's be honest here, who on earth in the right mind wears even the tiniest of heels to tafe/uni?

The last outfit from Melbourne is probably my favourite because I've worn this ensemble many times and I have absolutely no regrets. The top I bought from 'T Bar' in their 6 for $40' deal and thankfully my Aunt and mother love that shop and bought other tops for themselves. The top in the deal was about $6. It's a simple black crop with off the shoulder sleeves. I usually dislike showing a bit of my stomach, but after a few of my friends complimenting my flat stomach I decided to give it a go with showing a tiny bit of stomach and yeah, it worked nicely with these shorts. 

Did you say shorts?

Heck yeah, these super cool pink bottoms are actually shorts, yet look a bit like a skirt. Is it cool? Uh duh, of course it is! It wasn't even on sale, so of course it's awesome! The only painful thing about the bottoms is the ironing. It's so frustrating, but if you get it right, it looks pretty sweet. The shoes were from Forever New, as spoken about in one of the other outfits and the necklace was a present of a former friend who we shall not talk about. She changed.

It's a perfect party outfit, yet I'm of course going to wear it everywhere because it's super comfy and makes me feel good about myself, and that's exactly what clothes should do.

There we go! A few weeks overdue, but those are my Melbourne Purchases, and I do love them all individually and equally.

And also I love Melbourne.

My Thoughts Whilst Driving

So for those who may know me, they know that I'm learning to drive. I have been learning to drive in my families little Hyundai i20 since October 3rd (Mean Girls reference haha) and over the last few days, we had been camping and my parents felt I was confident enough to drive home.

So I did.

And these ladies and gentlemen are the thoughts I had driving from little town Pomona to more inner Brisbane. It got pretty ridiculous for little me.

'Alright, on the road'

'Turn up those tunes'

*Hums to 'Lips Are Movin'*

"Dad I promise I'm concentrating on the road and not the music, relax"

'Weeeee corners are freaking amazing'

*Shuffles in car seat*

"Dad I'm not going too fast alright"

'Oh wait, it's 90km/h and not 100?'

'La la la ooh that cars nice'

"Dad buy me that car. Thanks"

'Omg this is the highway'

'Can this guy kindly not be up my backside'

'Holy frick that truck is so big'

'WHY IS THIS TRUCK SO SLOW'

'Great. Stuck behind a truck'

*Hums to 'Prayer in C'*

*Starts dancing, gets slapped by Dad*

'This old man next to me needs to learn how to live'

'That sign says to look out for wild horses, that's cool'

'I THINK I SAW A HORSE'

'Nope, that was a log'

'Why did I think that was a horse'

'God-dam now I've got another guy far too close behind me'

*Fiddles with air con*

'This music is so good, I'm pretty good at making mixes'

*Starts singing out loud to 'New Flame'*

*Gets told off by Dad*

'GET OFF MY ASS'

'Please'

*Stares creepily at a kid in a back seat as I drive awesomely past*

'God I'm a freak'

*Does the 'Harlem Shake'*

*Gets laughed at by some green P plater*

'Fml'

'Please sir, do get away from my ass or I will slam the brakes and it will end badly for both of us'

*Sees a drive through*

"Dad I'm hungry"

'This man's going to let me starve'

'Ayeee we're getting off the highway'

*Waves back at a kid*

'Why he be waving?'

'Was he waving at me?'

'Oh no what if he wasn't'

'That's so awkward'

'Hell yeah traffic time'

*Gets stuck in traffic*

*Dad starts complaining about horrible traffic*

"I actually enjoy driving in traffic"

*Gets stared at by father disgustedly*

'I'm craving chicken'

'Chicken nuggets would be good right now'

*Swerves away from some idiot driver*

"SHOW SOME CLASS YOU IMBECILE"

*Gets told off by Dad for yelling*

*Pulls into drive way*

"HECK YEAH WE HOME"

*Gets told off again by Dad for being too loud*

And there we have it guys, the most weirdest thought conversation thing you will probably ever read. As you can probably tell, yes, I like my music, and yeah, people here in Australia like to drive up Learner Drivers butts. They seem to get joy out of it, while I get joy out of secretly flipping them off. 

All works out in the end.

Melbourne

Hello again! So I've just returned from my four day holiday in Melbourne! It was amazing, and a great escape from the horrible heat in Brisbane. Even though it is currently summer in Australia, the temperature in Melbourne is about the same temperature of Brisbane's winter. Winter being my favourite time of the year, I was pretty damn thrilled. 

So to demonstrate my new found love for Melbourne, here's some photos I captured on my Canon 600D. This one, above, is a shot from one of the many arcades we went through. The Christmas decorations were still up, and so it was super pretty and the atmosphere was super great. One of the awesome things about Melbourne, is that everyone seemed super happy! Even getting served by teenagers in retail stores, they seemed legitimately happy to be there, serving you!

This photo above is seriously just to show how gorgeous the architecture of Melbourne is. The shops in the city are integrated into these super old buildings, and mostly the buildings are unchanged. Going through the more suburban areas of Melbourne, there are plenty of terraces, all old fashioned and untouched.  I'm now of course hoping that one day I'll move down to Melbourne and live in a really nice terrace house. 

 Also one of the amazing aspects of Melbourne are their lane ways. When walking around Melbourne, take time to look down the lane ways. Many of them are covered in colourful graffiti, which make the lane ways seem more happier and brighter than if it was left bare. These lane ways usually had people walking through them, looking at the graffiti, and I really wish we had more lane ways like them in Brisbane. Melbourne and Brisbane are such different places, and of course if I had to choose which city I would choose, of course I'd choose Melbourne!

The Jean Paul Gaultier exhibition was on while I was down in Melbourne, so naturally I went down and saw it. As weird as the creations were, I really loved all of the pieces, including the mannequins with moving faces projected on to them. If anyone has the chance to see the exhibition, I'd definitely say you must go! It's an eye opener, and just please don't take children in to the exhibition because some of the clothes in the exhibition are a little racy and I don't exactly want the newest generation to be mentally scarred.  

 Okay, so when people go overseas, some of them go 'oh I went to the bridge in France (or Germany) with all the locks with couples names on it, I'm so cool and it was so romantic blah blah blah', you can laugh in their face and tell them they wasted their money going overseas to see that bridge because in Melbourne, there's a bridge with locks, just like the ones overseas. You're welcome, and now you can call yourself a savvy traveller. Also it's good for cute photographs.

 Another thing I loved about Melbourne was the food. The food there is exceptionally cheap, yet fresh and you get a lot of it. So if you're looking for good food and yet don't have a lot of money, go to Melbourne because I'm still getting over the fact that I paid less than $7 for a breakfast that could easily fill the guts of two hungry people. It's awesome. And the cake shops in some of the arcades and St Kilda are a huge must, even if you don't buy anything, just seeing the huge amount of sugar in the windows is pretty damn awesome. Looking for a super chocolatey sugar hit? Go to any Lindt Chocolate Cafe and order their hot chocolate because all it is is melted Lindt chocolate with super creamy milk. I think I gave the customer next to me a headache because with each sip I took, I said a little 'yummmmm'. Sorry random person, but you do not understand the fact that this is my first time. Do not judge me.

 The photo above is from St Kilda, while walking on the pier. It was super windy, naturally, and that day it was fairly overcast. It rained while I was half way across the pier, and even the raindrops were big. Just about everything in Melbourne is big, and I just love it. I would 100% move to this city in a heart beat. 

 On one of the days in Melbourne I ventured into their China Town. I don't know what I was expecting, but I was definitely let down. I thought there would be lots of cute little Chinese stores, but there really were only restaurants of which many were closed or looked really dodgy. So, yes, Brisbane wins in the China Town aspect. 

Finally in conclusion, Melbourne is now my most favourite place in the world, and if I hear anyone say 'I'm going to Melbourne', I'm going to of course ask them and beg them for myself to come with them. I love Melbourne so so so much and after I finish university, I'm so moving down there. 

Maybe I can work in a hospital and have a super cool house just like Nina Proudman (my most favourite character of all time) does. My dream.

Travelling and an Update

Hello! It has been an awfully long time since I've updated, and I feel horrible for it!

However, I do have an excuse, as per usual.

That's right, my brother, mum and dad drove from Brisbane to Cairns, up to Daintree Rainforest and then back again. It was pretty awesome!

I got some really awesome photos, which leads me to my new and super exciting update!

I'VE JOINED ETSY!! :D

I'm super excited for this, because I've been wanting to sell things for ages!

When I was looking at my photos from the trip, my brother saw some and said they were very professional looking. Then a friend saw some on my school laptop and said that she would totally buy them!

So I opened an etsy store, and so far I have 10 digital photos uploaded, all at the small cost of $5.
