Going Green - Succulent Bowl

It has been forever since I've made a post, and for that I am very seriously sorry!

I've had a few crappy things happen in the last few weeks and I just got a bit upset about everything to the point where I just had no motivation to do anything.

But now I'm back! And I have a post I'm super happy about to make up for my lack of existence.

I have come to love succulents, because they're so easy to grow and if I forget to water them (which is why so many of my plants die) they are still okay, because they retain the water! So as I'm sure you've all seen online, people have been planting a variety of different succulents in bowls, and they all look great!

 Above is an example of one that I found on lovely old google! I just love the different colours and the mass of them!

So here's a little DIY on succulents and how I did the succulent bowl.

 First of all, get a cacti & succulents mix. It's important to get the cacti one for your succulents as the mix makes the water easier to pass through, which is exactly what you want for your plants. Succulents don't need a lot of water, as they hold them in their leaves, and if they do get too much water, the leaves won't be very plump and will be long and thin. Not a good look, so spending a few extra dollars is definitely worth it.

 I got this bowl for about $10, and it's best to get a terracotta pot. This one was the main one I used as I had heaps of plants, yet not enough to hold all my plants.

This is one of the bowls I did, which I put in only three succulents. One of the succulents I bought already had a pup on it, so I knew it was going to be bigger soon (the pale succulent on the bottom). The other dark green succulent is one of my favourites, so I put in this one and the small one I was having issues growing in a pot by itself before, so I changed it's pot with these ones and hopefully now it'll really start to take off. 

When planting succulents, it's important to not be too rough with its leaves, as it has a special film on the top of the leaves that protects it from too much water. It acts as a rebound for the water so they don't get too waterlogged and end up dying. So be careful!

Lastly, this is my ultimate favourite bowl. The one in the middle is my most favourite succulent of them all because it's green with purple edges and just ugh I love it so much. The other succulents around it are super tiny, yet I'm hoping they'll survive and thrive. 

So there you have it guys, my little succulents and their little homes. I have also added some small black stones so now it looks even better than just the soil. Fashion is not Frozen

I'm back! And another fashion related post, this one from the lovely shop at www.freez.com.au! This website is great, if you're looking for bright, happy, summery clothing, which is always the fashion many Australian girls turn to! So, instead of my usual darker colour sort of clothing, I took a lunge into the deep end and came out with four of their items, which of course I will be talking about.

Freez Kaftan Dress - $59 (Freez)

Okay, so to start with, we have the 'Freez Kaftan Dress' which is scarily (for me) bright! On anyone else, I'd absolutely love this, but for me the colour is just too bright. It's a simple yet effective design, which would be perfect for the beach, going to a teenage party or even a casual day at home. This kaftan could easily be dressed up or down, with changes in accessories and shoes. Even just wearing your hair down, this item will look great. 

Freez String Top - $39 (Freez)

This top I can tolerate. The colour is still there, but it's blue, and I absolutely adore the colour blue, as many of you may already know. For some reason, most things I buy turn out to be blue. I could seriously have a room full of blue things. Maybe a good idea for a future post. Maybe not. But this top, can be paired with anything. I personally would wear it regularly to tafe since it's got a simple, cute design that doesn't tend to go to low. This top could be dressed with a skirt, or some pants, whichever you prefer. Even some jeans and black ballet flats would go nicely with this top. I may even buy it for myself. 

Heart R Free Print Skirt - $49 (Freez)

I love skirts. Skirts with floral patterns are cool, but I've always wanted a maxi skirt to suit me. They never seem to be just right, because I'm super thin, and it just looks ridiculous on my legs. But this skirt is gorgeous, with the slit up the leg, making it a little flirtatious. If I could suit these awesome skirts, I would wear them 24/7 and this skirt itself would be in the top 3 of my favourite maxi skirts. Now I just need to go on the hunt to find a maxi skirt that suits me. Wish me luck, I'm going to need it. 

Freez Tassel Necklace - $15 (Freez)

So recently you may have seen young girls, older girls and just the female gender in general wearing necklaces like these. Of course, I do not currently have one, mainly because I haven't been able to find one I like. Well tonight is the night where I have done so. This necklace is adorable and I've always loved tassels and the colour yellow. You put those together and you get this freaking amazing necklace and damn, I really love this shop for it. 

Freez, I love you, but I think my bank account is going to hate you. Sorry.

Dressing Games

Hello again all! Today I have another fashion filled blog post for you. This time I ventured to the lovely online store, Miss J Audrey which after knowing about it for a few months, I have absolutely fallen in love with all of their clothes! They're a mixture of girly and bohemian, the mixture of the two different fashions are perfect together in the cute little website that I think I shall be visiting regularly. 

I have chosen a few of the clothes from the website, from each 'department' (I guess you could call it that) and here we go!

Camellia Cashmere Scarf - $15 (Miss J Audrey)

This scarf is gorgeous. Just the whole tassels, and the colour, just makes me super happy! Oh my gosh, it's also only $15! The colour would make any outfit pop, and the colour is just perfect, and it's a colour that matches my eyes greatly. I just love the look of softness it has and the length is perfect for wearing it in any way. It's the perfect scarf for all year round accessorising. 

Tom - $269 (Miss J Audrey)

Damn. I scrolled down to these boots and seriously, I love them. Usually I hate boots, but these I would wear even if they don't suit my body. Thigh high boots usually make me look shorter, and they usually don't fit my super thin legs. I just love how great these boots look, and trust me, if I suited thigh high boots, I would definitely buy these in a heart beat.

Chain Me Up Skirt - $169 (Miss J Audrey)

This skirt is so chic! The whole embellishments on the skirt itself make me imagine myself clubbing (in a few months since I'm not 18 yet) all night long wearing this skirt with some freaking amazing high heels. It would be an amazing skirt for an amazing night.

Panel Sleeve Jacket - $169 (Miss J Audrey)

Woah. I love jackets, but the colour and the shape of this jacket is fantastic. The colour is great, because it's a mixed grey, so it's not in your face. It's the perfect jacket to tone down a bright outfit, bringing it more down to Earth. 

Party Floral Cami - $39 (Miss J Audrey)

This top screams summer and of course, being the typical Australian I totally am, my eyes were drawn to the floral print. It's not fluorescent, and it's not ridiculously bright. Pair this skirt with anything that has a bit of a tight hugging figure, show of what you've got!

Miss Sunshine Dress - $59 (Miss J Audrey)

The last and yet still gorgeous item in this post is of course this dress. It's pink, it's short, it flows and it's got next to no back. This is the perfect dress for me, and I just love the whole of it. It's just super girly, and I just love the fact that it's not a low cut dress at the front! Sick of those dresses because you know, lack of breasts.
